Eastbourne is a coastal town in southeast England, located 19 miles east of Brighton and 54 miles south of London. It is situated just east of Beachy Head, which is the highest chalk sea cliff in Great Britain and part of the Eastbourne Downland Estate. The town’s seafront features Victorian hotels, a 19th-century pier, and a 1930s bandstand. The Towner Art Gallery displays modern British art, while the Redoubt Fortress on the Grand Parade, built during the Napoleonic Wars, houses a military museum.
To the southwest, within South Downs National Park, lie the towering chalk cliffs of Beachy Head and its iconic red and white striped lighthouse.
